CHILD AND VULNERABLE ADULTS SAFEGUARDING POLICY
• This statement of policy and procedures applies to committee members of and activities of Dunlavin & District Forum and any ancillary activities which are the responsibility of the Dunlavin & District Forum.
• This policy is in place to protect all children and vulnerable adults.
• All children and vulnerable adults have the right to protection from abuse whether physical, verbal, sexual, bullying, exclusion or neglect. The welfare of the child or vulnerable adult is paramount and is the responsibility of everyone. All people associated with Dunlavin & District Forum have a responsibility for the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.
• No member of the Committee, staff, outside contractors, or volunteers will have unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults unless in possession of appropriate clearance.
• The Committee will adopt safe practices to minimise the possibility of harm to children and vulnerable adults.
• The Committee will fully cooperate with the relevant statutory authorities in relation to child protection and welfare matters.
• A copy of this policy is available on the Dunlavin & District Forum website and all social media platforms. The policy will be reviewed on a regular basis.
